Mazda says that all of its 2022 model year vehicles that have been tested in the NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program scored five-star overall vehicle scores. This is important because the NHTSA’s tests help people choose the safest vehicles that they can. Mazda says that the NHTSA’s tests are done on the “frontal, side, and rollover tests because they account for the majority of crashes on America’s roadways. The unique design of the MX-30’s freestyle doors proved to sustain both side barrier and side pole crash tests with 5-star ratings.”
