Chivas advanced to the semifinal with a 1-0 aggregate score against Toluca. Victor Guzman was the only man to find the net, and it came late in leg 1 at minute-86 off an assist from Roberto Alvarado.

After a disappointing 3-2 aggregate loss to Pachuca in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, Club America got some payback when they squared off against the same side for the Liga MX quarterfinals. They played two legs, both resulting in 1-1 final scores, so Club America advanced on away goals.

Now America’s scoring leaders Henry Martin (7) and Julian Quinones (7) will clash with Guzman (7) and the Chivas defense for the first of two semifinal games. The second leg is slated for Saturday, with the championship scheduled for Thursday and Sunday, May 23 and 26.
